An Author that Understands
Robert E. Jordan served for twenty-six years in the armed forced. He had a a distinguished naval career, serving as a Senior Enlisted Leader and as a Chief Warrant Officer of the U.S. Navy. During his last twelve years of service he wrote a collection of memos about his many experiences. He recorded his responses to many thoughtful questions asked by sailors under his command. His book , Faith, Flag, and Family: A Purposeful Guide for Selfless Service is a collection of these memos in which he reflects on some of his experiences and explains how his faith and family guided him. These words of encouragement strengthened his spirit guiding him through many challenging missions including five tours of duty in Afghanistan.
He understands the challenges that service poses on both the soldier and their loved ones. The country under which he served encouraged his determination to be part of something greater than himself, to serve and be a role model for others. He writes about his love for his country, family, and faith including stories about his ancestors, his parents, and his country. Each story reflects his gratitude for the opportunities he has had to serve. His book will inspire readers to appreciate the sacrifices made by our service men so that we may live in the land of the free.
