Art that Inspires

From the Water they Came

Invader girl (Sarah) is a self taught artist that has touched the lives of so many Veterans and their families. She grew up in military communities around the world meeting many inspiring people along the way. Their memories have influenced her paintings giving families and service men more than just a beautiful work of art. She captures their struggles, their victories, their defeats and how these experiences have touched the core of their lives.

Her painting titled, “From the Water they Came,“ depicts the story of three young men who became close friends after going through boot camp in the Recon Marines. They were deployed to Afghanistan where they faced the challenges of war and the tragedy of loss. The closeness and commitment that they had for their mission and for each other was unparalleled. One of these young men did not return home and the sadness his friends felt was too much to endure. A loved one reached out to Sarah and asked her to tell their story on canvas (shown above).

She launched Black Canvas LLC in 2020, relaying these stories through her paintings. A piece that can be remembered by families and future generations to look back on and understand what it means to sacrifice, to live unselfishly and to strive to be better. She has several works available for sale on her website: https://blackcanvasllc.com/. If you have a story to share and would like it captured on canvas, she would love to create a memory for you to display.
