Service dogs for our service members

Amy, a Minnesota native, now resides in North Carolina with her husband, Brian. She is the owner and head trainer of Patriot Pup Training, LLC, bringing over two decades of experience working with animals—primarily dogs and horses. Her career began as a kennel technician and assistant groomer, while also dedicating her free time to training horses.

In 2010, Amy earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing from NCTC in Minnesota before moving to San Diego to pursue her nursing career. She spent six years as an OB nurse before transitioning into a leadership role as a Nursing Supervisor at a narcotic recovery center, where she worked extensively in addiction and mental health for three years. While she found this work deeply rewarding, she ultimately realized her true calling was in helping both humans and animals through dog training.

In 2019, Amy enrolled in the Animal Behavior College, earning her certification in Basic Dog Obedience Training while simultaneously mentoring under IGP world competitor David Greene. She has since combined her expertise in healthcare and animal behavior to create life-changing training programs, including the training of psychiatric service dogs for veterans. Amy is deeply passionate about the powerful connection between animals and mental health, and she is dedicated to improving lives through her work with dogs.

We are excited to partner with her to bring service dogs to our service members. Please contact us for further information on her offering. Welcome Amy!
